The photo on the left says it all. Sania is exhausted, made a valiant effort and displayed a fine performance.But eventually lost to Venus Williams in the third round of the Australian Open.
She lost 6-7, 6-4 in a match that stretch to well over 1-1/2 hrs. In the first set Sania was leading 5-4 and later lost it in the tie-break.
She paid for her unforced errors. Mirza, the 31st ranked Indian star, later said that she was the 'worst server' in the world.
Her serve really did her in. The 21-year-old was naturally disappointed but she should take heart that she didn't gift away the match to Venus. The expressions on the face say it all. 'Didn't I do my best but that was not my day'.
