Though Sania failed to get past the second round in the singles, she did manage to reach the quarter finals in the doubles category at the Wimbledon this year.Partnering with Bethanie Mattek of United States, she gave her best performance, so far at the Wimbledon. The 13th seed Indo-American pair lost (4-6, 3-6) to 11th seeded celebrity pair of Serene Williams and Venus Williams.
Earlier, she had crashed out of singles and mixed doubles in the second round. Mahesh Bhupathi was her partner in the Mixed Doubles. However, her relative success in reaching to the quarter finals, gives hope regarding better future prospects in coming years.
